The great thing about being a wedding photographer is the many great locations that I visit. For this wedding, I met with Zita & Josh in Salisbury for their big day. Salisbury is very when know for its cathedral, and the buildings and grounds where the perfect venue to head to after the church ceremony.

During this day ( that just happened to be on my birthday ) we were blessed with light cloud and this helped me a lot with getting nice even exposures on my Nikon d850. To start the day we headed for a local church, about a 5 minute walk from the venue. This was the trickiest part of the day for me, as inside was a mix of window and artificial light. Once outside the even light was perfect for the confetti and guest shots. I loved this cloud, there was a great mix of colours and people smiled all round. One memorable part of the day was getting into the car with the wedding couple afterwards, the crowd cheered and the energy was brilliant. Zita & Josh totally forgot about the camera.

Heading to the venue was a short trip in the car, so fast we arrived way before the crowd and this gave us some time to walk around the venue and get some photos of them alone. Summer was in full swing, the meadows were blooming and there was no wind. All the conditions lined up. Zita & Josh had some time to chat and enjoy having their photos taken without having to worry about people waiting. This gave me some time to get some photos of the bride in her dress alone, Josh kept busy by holding the flowers.

All in all, I was hired for 6 hours on this day, and it was plenty of time to photograph was was required. I absolutely loved this day and my favourite shot is the one of Zita in the car looking out towards the guests, her smile says everything. It’s always a great added bonus for a wedding album if a photographer can climb into a wedding car with a couple, these moments can often be over looked. Just saying.
